The A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange “Pour le Mérite” reference 260.028 represents one of the finest expressions of modern Saxon haute horlogerie. Inspired by the precise scientific instruments used in nineteenth-century observatories, it combines understated elegance with one of the most sophisticated mechanical solutions ever incorporated into a wristwatch.

Crafted in 18K white gold, the watch features an elegant black dial with Roman numerals and a recessed small-seconds display at 6 o’clock. Its defining feature is the legendary fusée-and-chain transmission system, a historical mechanism rarely found in modern watchmaking that ensures a constant delivery of torque from the mainspring to the regulating organ throughout the entire power reserve.

Visible through the sapphire display back is the magnificent manually wound Caliber L044.1, exquisitely finished according to the highest standards of A. Lange & Söhne, featuring untreated German silver plates, screwed gold chatons, hand-engraved details, and the iconic hand-finished balance cock.

Produced in a limited edition of only 218 pieces, this example numbered 105/218 is offered complete with its original accessories and remains in excellent overall condition. A highly collectible opportunity to acquire one of the most technically fascinating and aesthetically refined modern creations from A. Lange & Söhne.
