The Omega Speedmaster Professional BA145.022-69 in 18K yellow gold was introduced in 1969 to commemorate the Apollo 11 Moon landing. Limited to 1,014 pieces, this model with serial number 036 is part of the extremely early production batch reserved for astronauts and dignitaries. It features a solid gold dial with black onyx indices, a burgundy "DON" (Dot Over Ninety) tachymeter bezel insert, and the manual-winding caliber 861. The case back engraving reads: “THE FIRST WATCH WORN ON THE MOON – APOLLO XI 1969 – 036”, distinguishing it from public editions. These watches were presented during a 1969 gala in Houston and are considered among the most historically important Speedmasters ever produced.
