The Tudor Oysterdate Chronograph Ref. 7031/0, also nicknamed “Homeplate” due to the unique shape of the hour markers, is among the most iconic and collectible vintage Tudor watches. Introduced in 1970, this reference features a matte black dial with a bold orange chronograph hand, a date magnifier at 3 o'clock, and the characteristic pentagonal (home plate) indexes filled with aged tritium lume. The fixed black bakelite bezel with tachymeter scale enhances the sporty character. Inside beats the reliable Valjoux 7734 movement. This early execution represents the beginning of Tudor’s chronograph lineage and shares strong design cues with vintage Rolex Daytona models, yet stands out with its daring and colorful aesthetics. A rare opportunity for collectors of historic chronographs.
